another LED sidelight thread

Bought some LED bulbs from Advanced Factors today for the sidelights on my MY2008 GS with bog standard headlights.

fitted and working all ok, nice and bright but when I switch off ignition the LED's stay on a dim setting for about 1 minute and then switch off completely.

this happens when I just switch off and when I lock it, and with the light switch on any setting (auto, off)

is this normal for LED bulbs to behave this way?

Doesn't do that on mine, they just go off straight away.

Time for a thread resurrection! (Well, it stops people saying "have you used the site search?")

Rog, did you get to the bottom of this? Previous owner went a bit LED mad on my car and I have the same issue. I put a multimeter across the terminals and I'm seeing circa 2.3V - which suggests this is residual canbus activity. It's there as long as the car is awake - so as soon as I unlock the car this voltage is present. It's enough that when I use the sidelight feed as an "off" trigger for the aftermarket DRLs, they won't turn back on again when I turn sidelights off as it sees that residual voltage.

I'm thinking some canbus resistors specific for a 5w load may solve the issue, but curious to know if you ever solved this. Current driveway contents:
2021 V60 Cross Country B5
2009 FL2 dog bus and shooting wagon

On Order: 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra - deposit paid.
