Can't understand about roof bars ?

Have a 62 plate Dynamic with with what I believe is termed Panoramic Sunroof. Looking to hire a roof box but want to ensure that place I eventually hire from gives me right type as looking a previous posts there appears to be differences of opinion etc. I can see on the Black roof rails (is that correct terminology?) some bits which I assume are anchor points but they are towards the rear and none are at front (to balance things up ) of the roof (see photos) Help appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
Those black trims cover the fitting points for Land Rover roof RAILS which will still need roof BARS for you to use them properly - I have uploaded a pdf document which contains photos etc that may help you understand what I mean
Alternatively you can fit something like Thule roof BARS designed for cars without roof RAILS
There are a number of posts on here about RAILS and BARS and roof BOXES - a quick search should give you plenty of information Thumbs Up

Just going through all this myself. Powerfulukltd has some very useful vids on YT showing how this all works. I'm fitting bars ( across the roof) to the fixed mounting points rather than fitting rails (along the roof).

I was looking at getting rails fitted but it's £150 if you can find some OEM then fitting them.... Then you need to buy bars etc....

One place had thule bars at £150 or £200 to include the temporary fittings that can work on the fl2 without needing the rails..... Seems to me it's not worth the hassle of fitting the rails and just get the adapters that you can put on / take off.. 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

Thule do a kit which doesn’t need the rail (Thule 1443 from memory) but you’d also need a foot pack 754 I think. You still need crossbars to mount a box on though.

I’m in the same quandary and have done loads of research on here. I bought a set of crossbars (still haven’t picked my car up yet!) and will be fitting the OEM rails when I find some. These are different depending on if you have sunroof or not.
