electronic problem with freelander 2

having same problem with battery light staying on. have followed advice about blue wire from alternator and attempted to check around fuel filter. if I take the filter out it means disconnecting fuel pipes. on replacing them the whole system has to be bled. another nightmare whithout the proper kit. why cant the whole wire be bypassed?

Hi Pedro, I did the blue wire fix a while back and did not need to bleed/re-charge the fuel filter by following a useful tip in this thread:

Hope this is helpful for you.

Hi, Copied a small section from wiring Diag for RHD Diesel vehicle showing what I believe is the correct blue LIN wire which goes from ECM (C1E104H-C2) to alternator (Generator).

If I can post including the screenshot then maybe others can confirm?

For me it was relatively easy to make a repair to this wire at the point it entered the main loom:

many thanks for the post and info. I can feel the damaged wire just before it enters the loom but due to pipes ,( possibly A/C) in the way, cant get a visual on the exact spot. don't want to start disconnecting the pipes cause its bound to start something major going wrong. have spoken to an auto electrician and he wants to charge me £60 before he looks at the problem. This forum is definitely the way to go. Amazing how some people take advantage of others, due to lack of knowledge. Many thanks once more for your help.

many thanks for the pics. the only problem is the wire has been routed differently. it goes under the 2 pipes and then into the loom. I can feel where the break is but cant see it. have had a post from mdpsim who has shown me where the wire goes to in the ecu so I can bypass it, and secure it without it contacting anything to wear it down. Thanks again for your assistance. Pedro.
