Froome will gain some time back in Saturdays time trial but probably not enough to win but he may get back to 2nd.

Today it is a flat stage and Friday will be the last mountain one but as it is so close to the Giro I doubt that he has the energy to repeat what he did in the Giro but they may decide sacrifice the team to get the pair of them back to 1st and 2nd by trying to blow Dumoulin up on the climbs which would permit Froome and Thomas to fight out 1st place in the time trial.

Why would he be chasing ? If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Reckon he'll hang on and lift the trophy on Sunday. Could be down to the time trial on Saturday but since that's his background I can't see him losing the time, although if the weather changes, anything could happen. In the mountains again tomorrow and he's proved himself there already.
Froome doesn't appear his usual self, possibly tired after the Giro. Can't win all the time.

Col De Tourmalet should be good, I have a personal attachment having run over it one Winter way down to Bareges and back as the ski-ing that Christmas was closed due to poor conditions. Mind you I was only 34, doing a course in outdoor education unlike today sampling the best that stress-less chairs can offer in front of the TV.
