Just niggles that’s starting to take the shine off ownership, it’s booked back in for September to hopefully get them all sorted and I can start enjoying it again.

So far - a replacement shock absorber
software update that killed more than it cured
trim that catches when the rear door opens
recovered by LR Assist due to EGR issues

I’m really sorry to hear this! I can’t understand what is going on at JLR.
My friends are just in “aaarh, mmmm, well” negotiations to sell back their F Pace. Can’t even
begin to list all the problems but after 4 changes of ECM’s and car stopping and not starting again they’ve had enough! Dealer couldn’t even get car going again after a week in the workshop.
They’ve refused a replacement insisting they will never touch a jlr product again.

had my XC60 now for over 3 years and still happy with her.

the seats are the most comfortable I've ever sat in, engine/autobox great combination.

the new XC60 looks like a winner and the new XC40 also looks a great package.

City Life !

From the Web Intro

it’s built for city life.

Erm, not a big sell there then for the green wellies brigade. I would be looking at a Scooby first. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Took a while, but it was brought under control eventually. I think the FL2 would have done better, but then so it should.

The XC40, is small, chunky, and reasonably priced. Everything LR should be offering but isn’t. I think Volvo is onto a winner.

I'd agree with that, I just couldn't live with the Datsun Cherry 100A styling:

They seem to be.... all production is sold for months ahead. Order now for delivery in 9-12 months according to the XC40 forum

Listen and learn JLR..bring a Freelander back. And stop having all the ruddy cars looking the same.

Really?!

So the deletion of the rear side window to make way for a pointless, blind spot inducing, triangle of metal isn’t distinctive enough? That’s strange, because it’s the only really distinctive bit of styling on the car.

From what I can see JLR make about twice as many cars as Volvo.

https://www.media.volvocars.com/global/en-...es-volumes

And the similar sized XC60 (to the Discovery Sport) is selling the same number of the mk2 this year as it did of the mk1 last year. That number is still about 25% less than the annual sales of the DS, although I read that JLR are cutting back the production slightly this year.

The XC40 is fighting in a smaller sized and different category. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 74k+ miles) (MY2015)
