Car alarm

Yesterday my alarm went off for no reason reset the dam thing and 30 minutes later off it went again. The car was quiet all day untill around 1pm a bit of reading on here and I decided it was the alarm siren as it now had started to do a single beeb before it went off a bit like a tired out smoke alarm. Found a brand new one for £25 including delivery so hopefully that's my problem fingers crossed

I had to have a look and there is definitely a battery inside the alarm siren.

I would suggest that if you fitted a new battery to unit it would work normally again. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 74k+ miles) (MY2015)

The car remained silent for a week then started going off for no reason. The code reader said it was the alarm siren that I replaced please don't tell me it requires coding. Could the bonnet switch give the same symptoms.
