Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Firenze Red
Marley garage

My Marley garage let’s water in at the base , not a lot but a damp patch on the floor when it’s raining. Today I decided to refurb the exterior by get washing it .
I can now see why water is getting in . The “silicon” between the panels has dried up and turned brittle and missing at the bottom.
The question is this , is this normal exterior silicon or is it special industrial stuff ? Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I am not a builder by trade but done plenty of jobs with sealer and you get what you pay for so do not go too cheap. It needs to be a builders exterior quality as its not for sanitary sealing use. If used say to seal something on a car like the high level brake light on these it needs to be acid free to not damage paint finishes.

A good local genuine builders merchant will stock what you need and be able to give advice at the trade counter. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Ive used that screwfix sika, to fill in holes inthe other type in a grain store. Mice eat holes in it

Wont be a problem this summer. But it often needs a bucket of hot water to warm it and make it squeezable At work

As a civil engineering contractor, I can confirm that anything "SIKA" is the top professional quality, especially to do with concrete. Their sealants are used on bridges, sewage works, airport runways, factory floors, etc. Should be ok for a Freelander.

Sikaflex 227 for the garage, Sikaflex 527 for the car: both paintable.
