If you put the rim face down it will scratch, as it happened to me with 18 inch rims.

The threaded bracket on the boot floor has a double spiral pitch to tighten up the bolt twice as quick, so standard off the shelf bolts will not work. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Iggy, I did place my own boot space underfloor storage solution (many days ago) in your "which roof bars" thread.
Maybe you missed it or maybe I was just talking to myself. Rolling Eyes FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

I'd agree with full size spare and jack. I have the Land Rover dog guard and cage and for the few minutes it takes to get to the wheel. If the boot is full, hey ho... at least I know I am going to get home that day, regardless of the destroyed tyre.

I also have (in the shed) the factory supplied full size (HSE?) polystyrene wheel well insert / floor support with compressor and gunk - the thing fills the entire wheel well giving good support to the floor but no useful storage space. I replaced that with a matching alloy as my very first 'mod'.

Where do you get this from?? I am aware of the trans K9 but this looks much more what I want!

If I need to get to it, it takes a few mins to fold rear seats, and pull togcage and boot mat through to car, so I can get tot he spare, jack etc Thumbs Up

Out of curiosity what is the advantage in having a dog crate as opposed to just a dog guard that keeps them in the boot ?

Several reasons. In an accident (especially if you are rear-ended), if the tailgate comes open, the spooked/shocked dog won’t be able run off down the motorway and for the same reason, when you open the tailgate if you have a lively/excited dog, it can’t slip out and run off. Also, on a hot day if you stop for a meal in an outside area such as a pub garden, you can leave the tailgate open so that the dog doesn’t overheat. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Thumbs Up

Trans K9 also have an escape hatch, so if you are rear ended, or tailgate jammed, you can use the escape hatch Thumbs Up

Sorry about fetching old thread up but I'm having a mental block here, If the spare full size spare is turned upside down where does the scissors jack fit? Does it then fit inside thus taking up the room you're looking to create or does it still fit under spare (doubtful) Confused

You could put it under one of the front seats or squeeze it into a space in the boot, but put it something or it will rattle.

Thanks Jimbo think I will leave well alone as there's still room to stuff bits and bobs under wheel Thumbs Up If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Scissor jack is fitted to the LH side whether wheel is correct way or upturned.

That's mine in bubble wrap.

i would buy my unused 19" shaddow chrome alloy wheel and pop a tyre on it

That why i bought it, but never got round to doing it, even though i have a spare part worn tyre to do it

better than ruining a tyre with gunk trying to fill it

if I recall you wanted £100 but no delivery ? Have you considered dropping the price due to lack of interest? ive been after one of those HST alloys wheels for a while, selling around £75 with road legal tyre on ebay now and again. 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -
