Country flags on reg plates. Who has one?

I keep thinking about getting a set of plates made with the Saltire on them, but never get around to it.
Ive just been on a break in Wales and every other car seems to have the red dragon on its plates which has reawoken the thoughts.

Do many of us have a country flag on their plates? Anyone totally against it? Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

Believe it or not there are actually legalities over what you can and cannot have on the number plates.

IIRC you are only allowed the Euro GB symbol on the left side (as you look at the plate) and the BS AU145A standard on the bottom right. With the registration number of the correct font, size and spacing with no alterations.

I did read somewhere that you are supposed to have the supplying dealers name bottom centre of the plate by law as well but I cant see this being true. I stand to be corrected though.

having said all that I would put the English or UJ flag on mine and remove any dealer name. Whistle

I Went to Huddersfield yesterday by train ( just wait for one as timetable a waste of time) and on coming out of the station crossing a street that clearly is marked bus and taxi only I was lucky not to be hit by a loaded M5 full of fat Arabs with wait oft it a Middle East plate on. They then went onto go down other streets closed off to general traffic.

So much for respecting the laws of others ! So how does that work then re that plate ? FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I keep mine with no suppliers names, BS numbers or flags. Rog you are correct the company who manufactured your reg plates it’s their name that has to go on the bottom of the plate.

I used to make number plates when I was a student. Plod will never stop you for having no suppliers name & BS number. As long as your using the correct font and spacing they won’t say a word. It’s the same with MOT testers. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

You are about to be corrected Laughing

Had a new car that I asked to be delivered with Euro Plates. Garage did not do it so sent it back to be done and said while you are at it take your company name off the plates. To be legal it came back with the dealers post code on as they insisted that it had to have that. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

As far as I'm aware it is the number plate providers detail that has to be shown on the plate.

And per OP, yes I've got a Saltire on mine along with the GB/Euro logo. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

so there we go.

get the red cross of St George for the Kingdom of England, the white saltire of St Andrew for Scotland (which two were united in the first Union Flag), and the red saltire of St Patrick to represent Ireland... but im not sure where the Welsh dragon comes in Sheep Laughing

as long as the reg number reads ok and clear then you will be fine, put what you want on the plate (disclaimer : I could be wrong Laughing )

Used to have a Scooby and the guy that made up the plates managed to impose the Subaru stars, albeit very faintly, as a sort of background across the whole plate. Barely visible from a distance and not an issue at mot time, although he did say that strictly it was illegal

Are we not allowed to show our nation's flag then? I have my countries flag on mine and will not remove it. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

They don’t do it for me at all, I just have mine made in metro font which is just like a bold type face, with a fine black border. No dealers no flags no slogans. Thumbs Up Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
