I still prefer the look of the Ewok over any of its rivals....

I'll never own a BMW because their business practices stink. They buy up companies and nick all the secrets and get rid of them leaving the staff without jobs in a lot of cases. They did it with Land Rover, Rover, Husqvarna and others. They also never ever admit that their products have a problem. It's always "user error". Then they sneak in a redesigned part under the same part number. I had this with a motorcycle. If I hadn't done my own servicing I wouldn't have known.
Then there's that fact that they just look horrible. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE

I wonder if they supply a balaclava to wear when you are driving it so that your friends won't recognise it's you in a BMW. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Don’t forget that they never have to “recall” their products either but, if you’re lucky enough, you might have a “product enhancement” Laughing

I'm not sure BMW carries the same cachet as Range Rover and that is pretty much all that matters to a good majority of the prospective Ewok buyers.

I have never really seen the point of the Ewok over Freelander aside a vehicle to carry a Range Rover badge compared to a Land Rover.

While the Ewok interior has some very nice touches, and there were some technical enhancements over the original FL2, it always seemed a bit claustrophobic and pointless compared to the Freelander. I was hard pushed to actually find something tangible that made it better than the FL2. Had they put in some ludicrous monster engine to account for its overtly sporty looks that would have been a far better proposition, otherwise it is just a Freelander in drag.

And I agree 100% with the views on BMWs business ethics. They bought Land Rover, flogged it and, surprise surprise, almost immediately, started selling BMW SUV's.

I'd never buy a BMW any way as, years ago, when I went looking for one as a company car, the sales person was such a pretentious little prick it put me off the brand completely....I ultimately bought a V8 Disco and the rest, as they say, is history. I guess I should be grateful really.

New Evoque is out next year with hybrid option to follow.

Evoque is still a good seller, it’s saw off a lot of competition over the last 7 years, I doubt the X2 will worry LR too much. I bought mine from launch and it was an exciting time best car launch LR has done for a long time IMO.

The rear pillar on the X2 reminds me of a crash dummies head Laughing 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

the only BMW X cars I like are the X4 and X6 because they stand out from the bland crowd.

they will still get stuck in light frost though Whistle

From a BMW owner perspective.... Whistle

I don't know why everyone is comparing the X2 to the Evoque as personally I think the X4 is more comparable size wise, the X2 is more along the lines of the Mercedes GLA and Audi Q2 - where priority is more fashion status than go anywhere ability.

Had a BMW for 4 years now and found dealer / service team to be excellent - much better then the LR people I used to deal with.

Oh - and with the harsh winter we had with snow and ice my X3 never got stuck once Thumbs Up Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit
