Gloss black rear pillers

Hi all,

I have been thinking about doing something with the rear piller covers for a little while now as I dislike the strange textured mat black original finish on them. Was looking at colour coordinating them as I have seen that here however have decided to get them wrapped in gloss black to add the wrapped glass/floating roof look of Land Rovers current design focus.

I'm really happy with it and I personally think it really goes well with the tints too, what do you guys and gals think?

On to the next tinker choices choices hmmmmm........... Very Happy

When I read this I thought that you were doing the C-Pillars / Door Frame to give a floating roof effect.
If this is your next project, please post a photo. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Looks really nice Thumbs Up I’ve never understood why JLR used that textured plastic so high up on the vehicle. It doesn’t even match any of the plastics. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Looks great.
Did you remove them for wrapping or did you do them still attached to the car?
If you took them off were they easy to remove? MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

It’s a simple, but big improvement Thumbs Up

It reminds me of the look of the glass wraps in the same location at the back of the early BMW MINI’s (until the Accountants took back control and replaced the glass wrap with a cheap plastic infill Censored )

Hi thank you I removed them to wrap, it was fairly straight forward tbh just several of those plastic push centre rivet things (sorry don't know what to call them) and pull them forward and they come right off. If your going through hell, keep going!

I actually wrapped them myself as a test to see if i liked them so it only cost me around £6 for enough gloss wrap to cover both, I actually have a bit left so an going to wrap the steering wheel switch packs when I have the time Smile

Plan to take them next to a professional automotive wrapper to get them done again although Im actually happy at my first attempt so might try again to see if I can get it perfect.

Thumbs Up If your going through hell, keep going!

Thanks Nut I knew I had seen the colour coding somewhere Laughing Decided to match the windows instead of sanding them flat and Zermatting the hell out of them which I'm pleased with.

I have no idea, it doesn't match anything else on the car so made no sense to me either but the B pillar material is pants too so might do that too at some point. If your going through hell, keep going!
