Sony MP3 player wont function

Hi,

Just tried playing my Sony MP3 player via the AUX/USB whilst the system recognises Sony Walkman it comes up with a device error, also tried the 3.5mm jack nothing output wise on that either

The Sony MP3 player works and has lastest drivers installed anyone got any suggestions before I have to buy an ipod? Sad

Car is a 2013 SD4
