United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Indus Silver
Tailgate lock

MY07 FL2
I have read most of the tech help regarding the tailgate lock problems.
As ever the exact same problem dosn't appear or I have missed it.
My lock mech stuck in the not quite closed position with the dash telling me it was open.
Despite pulling and pushing it would neither lock nor undo.
I managed to strip it out and the lock works manually so I am now unlocking manually by crawling in through the back door not ideal for a 70+.

Now I have it apart I need advice on diagnosing the problem (I am assuming the solenoid is the culprit). So any help greatfully received.

There are 4pins on the solenoid what is the function of each?

Does the solenoid mech need to be in an initial orientation position before it will work?

Does the central locking need resetting before it recognises the solenoid?

Where can I buy a new one assuming its available seperately

Thanks for any replies/suggestions

Get a new lock from Duckworths. Not worth faffing around trying to fix the old one. It won’t break the bank. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)
