Many are very professional. They are their own brand and work hard to ensure they get the best gigs and the best deals.

Nobody forces them to be Grid Girls, Event Hostesses, Photographic Models or anything else. They choose to take on the role and I applaud and thank them for it.

A great deal of the PC nonsense is proliferated by feminist couch potatoes jealous because somebody is more attractive than they are. Perhaps, if they got off their couch and put some work in they could look good as well.

I agree that there is a double edge sword that causes anxiety in some girls to achieve a look which might be considered beautiful. But the answer is not to ban all things beautiful. We can't all be racing drivers, or footballers, or pop idols, or film stars, or doctors, or astronauts so should we ban them as well?

Apparently they tried the cockpit canopy type, similar to that adopted by Kart in America. Kart couldn't use Halo as it blocked their view looking up into the banked turns.

However, while Kart used a continuous radius for the screen F1 used compound radii and then complained about visual distortion. ....If they can do it on fighter canopies you think they could sort it for F1.

I think the main issue in F1 is rain. As Kart doesn't run in the wet, water on the screen shouldn't be a problem for them.

The introduction of the Halo seems to have been mainly down to the death of Henry Surtees who was struck by a wheel coming off of another car that crashed, and to a lesser extent the suspension component that struck Massa in the head a few years back. There was a rule bought in years back the in the event of a crash the wheels should not fly off the car (primarily to avoid going into the spectators), so all the wheels were then tethered to the car. I don't know if that's still the case or it was applied
to the lower formulas where Surtees raced.

It does look likes its more akward for the driver to get out of the car, and if one ended up upside down, it doesn't look like it would be possible for them to get out until someone righted the car ( do't know for sure though). Still when the cars crash these days they don't tend to burst into flames, so maybe that wasn't thought to be an issue.

It's fair to say that if the Halo had always been on the cars, Aaryton Senna would likely still be alive.
