Hi all how do you regegenerate the DPF on a car with the auto box please ??

Eight years and two FL2 autos I have let it do its own thing, and never a complaint even though I do short journeys 70% of the time. But if you have reason to force one then its important to keep the revs above 2500rpm and not be interested in speed, so flip it into manual and work the box where you can do that for roughly 15 minutes.
If you fancy a motorway trip then do the same and keep it in 4th.
