Headlight availability?

My (2010MY) FL2 has been off the road for three weeks now, getting the stag dents removed.

The body shop has been telling me for two and a half weeks that they are “waiting for parts” and it turns out that the part in question is the headlight. When I got the same message again today, I phoned the Parts Counter of the local LR dealer who said that the headlights are “on back order” and it would probably take a week for them to get me one.

Has anyone else come up against this? Are genuine FL2 parts getting more difficult to get? 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions! I’ve seen plenty on-line for a third of the dealer price, but since the body shop is doing an insurance job, cost isn’t my problem. I’ve been arguing that it doesn’t take weeks to get a headlight but wanted to check if perhaps I was wrong and they did in fact have a case.

The old headlight was actually fine, but could be moved slightly when pressed hard, so either the clip was broken or one of the locating lugs on the headlight itself. My tack tomorrow is to see if I can get them to put the old light back so that I can use the car until such time as the new light arrives. I suspect, though, that it may be too late and the old parts may be long gone by now. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
