So exactly what has this do do with the features of a Discovery 5. Confused

That could be any car with back seats and a sunroof!

Sad times, confirming LR have definitely lost it. Sad FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

My thoughts exactly!!

This would be one of the last cars I’d ever buy and this certainly does nothing to help. What were they thinking?

At least they majored on not showing the outside of the car!

Exactly. A Discovery 5 IS just another car with back seats and a sunroof. They have achieved their "Mission to Anonimity" Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame

Precocious child actors are guaranteed to make my toes curl; but give the boys and girls at JLR Marketing a chance, it is part of a series of adverts.

And, on the plus side, if they sell loads of Disco Sports (AKA Freelander 3) to families, yummy mummies, and urban trendy daddies there will be more available second hand in four or five years which will never have seen anything more off road like than a school playing field. Just the job for those of us who appreciate the vehicles finer points. The more they sell the better it is for us in the long run.

All advertising these days involves selling you a lifestyle rather than focusing on the actual product, this latest advert is no different. Take the Range Rover Velar advert where the car drives into a posh house protected by wolves. You don't get to see much of the car itself, however, the advert centres on the lifestyle that the driver has.

On the flip side you go for short films like the Dragon Challenge, all this does is stir up the 4x4 hate brigade who can then shout and scream about all the damage we do the environment and it's surroundings

Surely it is a family car? Yes it has off-road capabilities but these days few Land Rovers actually venture away from tarmac. Selling the brand is key to it's survival as it is with all brands, be it cars, clothes, whisky etc.

The subtlety about the advert is that are going on an adventure which is how Land Rovers have been advertised consistently over many years, it's just that the audience today is different to how it was 10 years ago.

Rolling Eyes The Discovery has always been a family car, and has been bought for its practicalities by families for years. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
