Headlight clip

So basically the clip at the back of the headlight has broken, either I've done it or it was already broken but it's broken. Just changed the bulb and tightened the nuts up but will the headlight be ok without the clip? It's this that has broken.....

These are on eBay. Expensive. Its usually the activator plunger that snaps. But here you get BOTH.

Thanks Largered, I did see that when I ggogled it but I think the two genuine LR parts are less than that. I will replace just wondered if it's ok to drive around with the clip bust for a few days but I'm sure it will be Thumbs Up

I also did this a while back - no problem driving round with a broken clip, just keep an eye on the bolts and maybe check them on a regular basis.

Broken clip is an mot failure.
I know as it happend to me.

You would think it could be purchased as a spare but no. I had to buy a used headlight just for the clip. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

You can buy it as a spare. It's part no LR001538 and I think it's about a fiver. You can also buy the upright plunger part separately too. Thumbs Up

Well that's worth knowing Snappa.
I'm almost sure mine was broken by the dealer during the mot , they said they would have to replace the full headlight as the part was not available as a separate component. Evil or Very Mad

I'll keep that number handy in case I require another.
Thanks for the info. Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

I'd go back to the Dealer show them the part numbers and demand a refund.
