Excellent tip. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny. 🐑 Freelander 2 HSE auto 2014 ( Florrie ) ..... Try again. Freelander 2 GS 2012...... Gone. |

I fitted a Bluespark chip, and blanked the EGR port.

Not quite the whole story as it needs a good burn up every so often to stop carbonising up. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current |

Another Bluespark fan here - installed in 10 minutes and semi blanked off my EGR at the same time. Now getting mid 30's …… in an auto! Cheers,

If you want to track your MPG accurately then use the fuelly app (see below). Saves a lot of messing about with calculators! I get mid to high 20's, all my driving is around very hilly towns, if my wife drives on a very long run (300+ motorway miles) we may see 38-40 but that is rare.

May have mis-heard but I think a blanked EGR is going to be an MoT fail soon, along with tampered-with DPF. You may need to unblank for the test. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

How would the MOT tester know if theres a blanking plate in, I always thought they couldn't strip stuff down? |

Blanking plate - they can see it in the pipe joint at the throttle body.

Agreed - but later cars (2012> I think) throw errors unless you 'delete' the EGR in a remap. I just fitted a blanking plate with a small hole which is designed to stop any errors but still get most of the benefits. How is a tester going to tell the difference between a blanking plate and a gasket anyway? Cheers, Raz FL1 TD4 GS Auto 2001 Silver FL2 TD4 Auto 2007 Black FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2012 Fuji White |
