Sat Nav and Radio issues

Hi

2007 FL2 TD4 HSE with Sat Nav and premium radio (supposed to be 6 disc system but I can't find the disc pack anywhere).

Sometimes (not always) when the car is started, for the first 5 minutes or so the Radio and SatNav keep turning on and off. They turn off and a couple of seconds later they turn back on again. This continues for some minutes. Have looked around to try and find an answer but with no success. The car has a new battery (fitted Saturday) but the issue still continues. I have a feeling the temperature may play a part in this. But, as it's the wife's car and I don't drive it often enough am not sure.

Any help or clues as to where to start looking would be most appreciated.

TIA

Ivan

Ivan, it's either a poor connection or a fault with the unit by the sounds of things, probably check all connections are in nice and secure first. As for the CD changer, it's built in, if you look at the top right hand corner of the display you will see 6 circles, once you load the CD's these will become solid circles with the numbers 1 - 6. Can't remember without checking the book but you can load all 6 at once or press the CD button and the number 1 button and it will load a CD to location 1, same for 2 - 6

Many older cars with electrical problems have benefited by having a extra earth lead fitted. Do a search for it as there are specific threads on size and fitting I think. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Thanks for the information. I'll start with checking the connectors first.

Yorky Bob where does the second earth get connected from and to? Is it from the Battery negative to ??

Thanks

Ivan

Ivan, extra earth lead normally goes from negative battery terminal to starter motor top bolt. See pic taken from a previous post

Ivan you need to search as I have a MY13 and its factory fitted. But its from the neg side of the battery. I think some go for a bolt near the starter motor. Its on here somewhere and maybe others have the link to hand. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Thanks gents for the information. I'll check first to be sure it hasn't already been done.
