Need to fit 3 child car seats in the back of my FL2

I need to fit 3 child car seats in the back of my FL2 and be able to get to the seat belt release on each. Wondered if anyone else has fitted 3 successfully? If so what make/model were they ? Thanks

3 seats Shocked

I can comfortably fit my single forward facing seat on the rear seat at both side, but i was under the impression that the center seat did not conform to safety standards for child seats Question Question Question

But you can place a seat in the front if the airbag is turned off Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I was one of four kids but back then cars did not have seat belts so no problem. Smile

I have been in the same position as you with my 3 children needing seats too a few years ago.

Fitting 3 seats in any car is near impossible unless you go for 7 seats like a Disco. At the time I could not afford a Disco so had to use a Booster seat in middle but would have been happier with a proper seat.

It is not just cars that give you this problem though - everyone caters for 2 adults and 2 children - having 3 seems to be a curse! Confused

I recently had to carry 3 toddlers in seats and it was a squeeze but I managed - getting at the release was difficult though. I dont know the makes of seat - they were all different. I did not use the isofix.

We fitted a childs seat in them middle a while back, so we good do some greenlaning, and give my niece a good view out the front, and fit 4 adults in the car, never gave a thought to regs about seats, I thought that as it has a 3 point belt it would be fine.

But more to the oint 2 adults and a childs seat in the middle worked well, though not sure about getting 3 child seats attached, unless you have very long thin arms.

I've been having a good look around and have found seats like the Britax Evolva 2-3 are sculpted in at the base so you can comfortably get your hand in and undo the seat belt. Also the Britax Sprint booster seat is also sculpted in to help with the tight space. Im thinking this combo could well be the answer.

I am also struggling with this conundrum and the only option so far has been eldest child (5 yrs) in front passengers with seatbelt fastened child seat. 3 yr old in ISOFIX seat one side and newborn in ISOFIX the other side with Mum or Dad wedged between them depending on who's driving.
This is far from ideal and would much prefer for the 5yr old to be in the middle with three point harness seat but none of the many we have tried will physically fit in-between let alone allow space to fasten up.

I'd be extremely interested to hear from anyone that has overcome this problem.

Thanks for reply,I had half anticipated this problem which is why we ordered a new Discovery 7 seater last September thinking it would arrive before baby no. 3. No such luck!! We're still a month away from delivery,Grrr, and baby no.3 is one month today and growing rapidly!!

Worried now a 7 seat Discovery won't cut the mustard but we need the off-road capability of a L/R not a mickey mouse part -time 4wd make.

My Ex had a mid-life-crisis ...... and bought herself a Megane 'Tin-Top' (folding metal roof).

The only way to get the (grand) child's seat in rear seats of the vehicle was to open the roof, install seat, close the roof, install child. Extrication was the reverse procedure !
..... oh and first you had to empty the boot, of any contents, in order to get the roof down.

Largered, that reminds me that we discovered (a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away!) that a Mothercare travel cot, fully made up, would fit in the back of the 90 CSW but without enough space to then get the child into it... We also knew that a short journey in the LR was great for getting child off to sleep and that evening visits to friends led to disproportionate babysitting costs... I guess you can join the dots! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
