I’ve ordered some Brembo 316mm discs, OEM pads and front Caliper carriers. At the same time I picked up some new 3.2 Petrol rear vented discs and larger Piston calipers.

Will be getting my local mechanic to fit in the next week or so and will report back on the results. Hopefully should be a harmonious match for the added grunt after the Bluefin remap.

So how much more is your insurance? You have declared it I assume. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Dave,

I can confirm that the spare on my 3.2 is 17"

And as stated I have the larger braked fitted as standard.

Thanks

Paul

Have you every fitted the 'spare17' to the front axle ??

Your comment doesn't say it fits.

Largered,

That is a fair point.

Purchased my LR2 new in 2008 and the spare is original.

My LR2 is the 3.2 so the larger brakes are also original.

I've only used the spare as a place holder when rotating the tires and it fit fine on the front. (now I use two jacks for rotating and the spare is resting in the boot)

Note: I didn't check the clearance so I can't comment on how much of a gap was available.

Thanks

Paul

Has anybody investigated what effect these changes have to the settings of the various anti-lock and stability systems of the FL2?
or are you just hoping the dynamic nature of these systems will correct any strange behaviour?

As these parts are OEM “mechanical” parts I am assuming that they will work OK. Any “dynamic” recording is fed by the monitoring systems connected to these parts.

Once fitted I will report back.

Asked the question as the parts are not fitted yet:

The car is part of a large fleet with several tractors, two combines and a few HGV’s so the feedback was “don’t worry about it, we’ll make a note of any modifications but this minor change is insignificant with regards to your premium”.

Same was the case with the Bluefin For the Freelander and a remap on a new S650 Scania
