Ed you're one for different 'Pillar' colours, do you remember the first few hundred 5 door Freelander 1's.

Further do you know why only a few hundred were made and why all other 5 doors never had black door pillars ?

Yes, I've got those on my DS with the winter tyres. They're a bit blingy.

18" (written on the tyre). Same as mine. Standard issue Ewok wheels. Got mine off e-bay (had to convince the seller they would fit my car before he would send them). Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

I don't mind the shape of them, but it suddenly struck me, because the shape is not symmetrical, ie each side of the spokes is different to the other side, this in effect means one side of the cars wheels rotate the opposite way to the others, if you see what I mean,

maybe I am a perfectionist, but it doesn't look right , I could be the only one who cares ? Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Dont know about you but I can only see one side of the car at any one time. My 19" wheels on the SETech are far from symmetrical.

Have you looked at these ??

Evoque 18" style 706 alloys.

They do remind me of the FL1 Trek alloys which were 17" ...... but with much more detail.

It was to avoid additional manufacturing costs for the black door tops. It was cheaper to paint them Laughing MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
MY15 Xenon Headlight Conversion

MY17 RRS SVR - Estoril Blue Cirrus/Ebony 🪣💺’s

Ed, during manufacturing the doors were sprayed separate to the main body. On assembly it was noted the Black pillar frame was not the same colour on the front and rear doors. In a quality meeting to rectify this problem it was decided NOT to paint them Black.

The Black pillar frame was best as can be seen by the photo, the rear quarter window is in total alinement with the side doors. To me a much better look.
