Multiple Contactless credit cards

Interesting thing happened to me today. I went into my local coffee shop where I am a regular and always pay for my coffee with a contactless debit card even though it's only a couple of quid. Today as an experiment I just put my wallet on the machine and it came up with (I can't recall the actual message) something like "too many cards offered" and declined the purchase. Then I realised that I have an Amex and a Mastercard in my wallet too so it was presumably getting a response from all of them. I have been thinking of putting a metal sleeve around my cards to stop them being scanned as I walk past someone but perhaps all you have to do is have more than one card. Anyone any thoughts.

PS better make sure I haven't paid for 3 lots of coffee this morning too. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

foil works, tried it with my wallet
if someone scanned you the record of were the money was sent can be followed easily and the scrots caught. Common sense isn't very common.

I’ve started to use Apple Pay for most payments now. I’ve gone from a wallet full of cards , to just my debit card. On my phone I’ve got the debit card, a Visa card and a MasterCard . The extra layer of protection of fingerprint recognition to authorise the contactless payment is worthwhile IMHO 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Ditto MartynB. Recently I’ve tried contactless on my iPhone X which consists of double tapping the side button and looking at the lens so it recognises me. Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

It’s undoubtedly the way of the future Doc . I understand that there has been a big push by Apple to ensure that there is no upper ceiling on payments now . In recent weeks I know I have paid bills ranging from £60 - £125 at fuel stations , restaurants and supermarkets. I’m surprised that banks still operate chip and pin , biometrics are the way to go Thumbs Up 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I watched an episode of 'Rip off Britain' which covered contactless cards.
Apparently it uses NFC connectivity, which most smart phones have nowadays.
So, as they showed, a phone running the correct app only needs to be close to your card to read enough info to allow them to use your card details online.
These little metal card wallets do work. (Again showed in the program.)

I've turned down contactless cards from both my back and Credit Card companies, they will all offer you a non contactless alternative if you ask them.

Istick with Apple pay using my fingerprint as my authorization. If someone is so determined to use my Apple pay that they take my finger off they are welcome to the few quid thats in my account... Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

My wife had her credit card stolen. I didn’t cancel it - they were spending less than she was. Whistle Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
