Snow forecast hope it’s accurate ..

Well the forecast here in Yorkshire is for snow tomorrow ( Sunday) and I’ve had my freelander 2 Years and the mrs has a mini all4 and I really do hope we get a ton of snow as neither cars have ever been off road and would be great to have some fun and see what they really like although both on summer tyres.see if I can find an empty car park ...

I’ll tell you what they are like in the snow . Like several vehicles( including a Freelander ) that have been through our field walls , once they lose traction they are a 2 tonnes sledge looking for an solid object to stop them Whistle If we get the forecast 8” of snow and a few drifts make sure you have a nice strong recovery strop and the phone number of someone with a tractor , assuming of course you can even get through the abandoned vehicles to find somewhere to get stuck Very Happy If you don’t have appropriate rubber you are going nowhere in any depth of snow . The scooby is on Bridgestone Duellers so that will stay put and we’ll use the Pirelli ATR clad Freelander

I hate the snow it just causes misery , mayhem and grief , all with tonnes of nice corrosive salt to Censored up anything it touches ! 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Your spot on there Martyn, the lack of common sense when it comes to snow is amazing,
SE4X4Response is now on full alert and the Kit we have to carry is very comprehensive in its content,
our last big snow 2013/14 Responders were out over 16 hours attending to those who where stuck, mainly behind each other!
yes it makes a lovely view, but do not underestimate the danger.
So please all take care,

Nothing to worry about at all Bobby, just a light sprinkling , though the gritters are out . I’m in Emley at the moment and it’s not much more than a heavy frost on the grass here really. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Road temps at -5C here just now...-11C at higher levels! Last night’s snow has added to Friday’s and frozen. Ok to drive on when it’s fresh but not so good after it gets compacted. Got to say, though, that the FL2 is handling it really well. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

We have snow in East Bedfordshire - only about 2 inches, but the first real amount I have seen around here in years - and it is still falling.

About 12 centimetres in Northamptonshire - horrible stuff, the sooner it goes the better.

Just seen a gritter on the main road and some interesting driving. Generally numpties falling into two categories, those that continue to drive at their normal speeds and oblivion to anything outside of their car, and those who creep along at a slow walking pace. Oops, and there's another in a fancy German 4x4 who thinks that four wheel drive on it's own will enable you to drive as if on dry roads. What a shame that he only has four wheel braking - and what an even greater shame that the tree he hit didn't do enough damage to the car to stop him driving.
