I would. £75 excess (or whatever it is on your policy) for a new, crystal clear heated screen at the start of winter. I’ve got a special tool to fix that. You can get one quite cheaply at any builders merchant.

They reckoned there was power to the connectors at the screen base

Warranty offices weren't open over the weekend. Or not when the dealer phoned anyway..

I have a similar but different problem. If switch the heated screen on using either the dashboard button or the Prog button, then 4 times out of 5, maybe more, only the left side works. So if the screen is iced up, the left side is clear, whilst the right side is beginning to defrost just from hot air from screen vents.

Not the best solution but if your screen fails totally then carry an empty 2L bottle with you and always fill it up with cold water ideallly straight from the tap before your away to pour it over the windscreen. This will keep the temperature the same and the screen will be fine. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

The normal blower heater clears the screen quite effectively, a lot more so than the older FL2 ive had, but nowhere near as quick as the heated elements.

Could it be something as simple as a faulty relay? - the screen has two separate elements so it is unlikely both have failed at the same time - see the wiring diagram sticky on the technical topic - page 44 No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

could be Westy.. I have checked both fuses previously which appeared ok, and LR Derby had a quick look when it was in for service and said power was getting through (although im not convinced they looked properly) But that was all when just the passenger side had failed.
