Fog light/Daytime Running Light - anyone done it?

Hi, I'm new to Freel2, and also a new Freelander owner. having only driven my recently purchased TD4 about 500 miles so far - but I love it already...!

However - I am a fan of Daytime Running Lights, and my Freelander doesn't have them - though it does have fitted fog lights.

Now, I am also lucky enough to also own a big-boys-toy - a Jaguar XK - to which I have fitted LED fog light/drls which replaced the original fog lights. (Photo below...) I think my XK lights are the same as these: https://goo.gl/1dYgJC I have to say that I am a little disappointed that my XKs DRLs are not as bright as on most modern cars.

I am pretty certain that the fog lights on the XK are exactly the same as those on the Freelander, so my question is; does anyone here have experience of fog-light replacement DRLs for a Freelander 2 that do a really good job? I would be most grateful for any recommendations. Many thanks.

Powerful UK do a fog/DRL fitment

...... I think they are the same as Fiat 500 ?????

.
I did my own ....... by buying led rings, see photo, its the yellow rings around the Fog and Driving lamps (before the clear diffused lenses were fitted, which stops them looking yellow) The ring lamps when ON .... glow BRIGHT WHITE.

You need to do your own wiring for both of the DLR solutions above.

Oops - overlapped posts...

Yup - I've seen these - but although they replace the fog lights - they can only be switched on by the original fog light switch - so the sidelights need to be on as well.

The lights I bought for my XK came with an electronic module which (when correctly connected to the car's wiring) lights the DRLs with ignition on, but puts them off with side/headlights on. Currently enjoying:

My understanding, someone help me here,is that DRL only need to turned OFF, when side lamps are on, if the DRL is in the same cluster as side lamp. ???

I've no idea of the precise regulations - but my broad understanding that any Daytime Running Light has to come ON with the ignition, then go OFF when the sidelights/headlights are turned on. I don't think the location of the light source is relevant. Currently enjoying:
