Heated front screen

My heated front screen has started to clear the ice in strips so some areas clearing others not clearing would I be right in thinking that it’s a fault in the filaments within the screen and therefore cannot be repaired without replacing the screen,
Thanks

my passenger side does the same, 2-3 bars don't seem to be working which isn't an issue in itself as the rest clears fine

however the passenger side intermittently fails to work at all, I checked the fuses and all looks ok but until the screen is iced up daily I have to wait until a cold enough mornig to check if its working again.... no point in me buying a meter just for this.

although im wondering if the approved warranty will cover it Question

The approved warranty should cover it as it’s essentually extending the cars 3 year manufacturers warranty. However if you’ve got any stone chips on the area then JLR may say it’s damaged the screen therefore it’s not covered. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Seem to remember that if you take off the scuttle panel there are 2 connectors, one for each side of the screen. May just want a remove, clean and put back. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

there is a small chip/crack on the passenger side about 5mm but its outside the elements so wont have effect on them. But I wouldn't put it past them to try and wriggle out of it

The panel that covers the bottom of the screen and plenum chamber where wiper units normally fit out of sight. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Not done it myself yet but mine was removed for access to a EGR valve change. I guess it will be a few minutes only. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

If the screen is part clearing on both sides then it won't be the connectors under the scuttle, as has been mentioned before the filaments in the screen are beginning to fail. The only solution is to have the screen replaced or live with what you have
