Flooded interior - seat removal question

So we've had torrential rain and muggins here left the d/s passenger window half open.

I've put my hand in the passenger footwell and there's a fair bit of water, now removed with towels.
Question is, the flooring is just a gloryfied sponge which will need drying out.

I guess I need to remove the trim and the driver's seat in order to pull the carpet.

I have done some searches on the forum and it seems there's an airbag sensor in the seat.

My question is, can I remove the seat (but not unplugging the electrics) without any impact or pootling over the stealers' ?

Many thanks in advance!

BTW searching around, it looks like silica-based cat litter does the job - I bought 10kg... Idea

Hi I had both front seats out of mine.had the battery out at the same time, without any problems.takng out the battery or disconnect it stops it draining while you work on it.there should be more on the site about this.

Cheers Bobby.

If I disconnect the battery, does that mean there's a reset on the radio (ie inputting a code)?
Good point about draining, never thought about that. 2013 SE TD4 in Mauritius Blue [Written off]

I had a similar problem a few years ago and more recently a problem with water in my caravan (My fault for using a hose to wash out the cassette loo hatch from outside the van) I used a dehumidifier! It's amazing the amount of water that these things can shift quickly, it's only a small one maybe 16" high and cost about 30 quid .. it's one that I normally leave in the caravan all year round and this early in the winter, it is already shifting a fair amount of water. May be worth a try instead of pulling your car to bits?

PS, there was a LOT of water, the carpets were sodden. REME .. Rough Engineering Made Easy
