my car has all the toys, or so I thought. I realised the other day that it doesn't tell you if any seat belts are not fastened.

is this normal, or is there a fault.

TIA

It should have seatbelt reminder enabled. My understanding is that it's part of the NCAT rating.

Have you been the owner from new? Wonder if it's been disabled off by a previous owner?

Do you have access to a diagnostic tool? You should be able to check its configured status with that. As I recall it has several modes which can be configured for different markets. Freelander 2 TD4 SE Automatic - Tonga Green

There is a procedure for enabling/disabling seatbelt reminder without the need of a diagnostic tool.
Turn the ignition on, but do not start the engine.
As soon as you turned the ignition on, insert and remove the seat belt into its socket 10 times, as quickly as possible.
After the 10th cycle, a confirmation sound is heard and the reminder is enabled or disabled, the opposite of how it was before.

Or otherwise use the Search function and you'll find these and many other... Very Happy

Thanks for the replies, I'll try this at weekend.

If it makes any difference there are no lights showing either.

Much appreciated!
