Mine has the Si4 body kit style genuine oval finishers. I agree that to some they can be a bit "Marmite". I also have some smaller plain tubes. In two minds whether to put them back on.

The pipes seem very low, like a large gap up to the bumper..

Look further on. Another poster shows a pic with smaller tubes similar to those on the eBay offering. Further on again, Stuart talks about departure angle where he has cut back the box tubes a little so the oval finishers are not so " in your face"

In all the pics I can see (some aren't working) there seems to be a gap between the top of the pipe and the bottom of the bumper which seems quite large, it may just be the colour of the car? I am used to pipes almost touching the bottom of the bumper...

You are right. Mine are horizontal, no rise at all. Having said that, departure angle is not a bother for me. I don't do rocks and kerbs are not that high. Whistle 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

You’ll be fine as you have a dynamic. StuartC has a normal bumper (without bodykit) MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Custom pipes, smaller than the official kit.

(they look uneven sizes here - they aren't!)

[quote="dunkley201"]You won't get better value than this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Freelander-2-rea...Sw241YfJfa ....as it includes the trim finishers. Si4 or i6, they are the same box. SS as per original.]

This is where I got mine from and after a little chat he even fitted it for me - result!!

Hi Norfie,
Can you confirm you didn't need the extra "bridging" pipe, as according to his advert it's just a normal! exhaust clamp to connect.

If you do an author search for "turk" on here, you'll find the ebay seller "partslandrover" - he's only made one post to this forum, answering this very question Smile

Or if you want the highlights: he sells backboxes from both the i6 and the i4 petrol models. The i6 box has a 64mm pipe and is therefore a perfect slide over fit for the 60mm diesel pipe. This is what he's selling in the link above. The i4 petrol backboxes require the 60mm sleeve as the pipe size was reduced to 60mm to match the diesel, when the petrol model became 4cyl.

I bought an i4 box off him and required the sleeve. When I later had my custom pipes welded on I had 64mm pipe added to the end to make it slide over, and it's a much neater way of fitting, and doesn't even require a U clamp tbh. So if possible get the i6 box.

Personally can't see the point in having visible [bling] exhaust tail pipes on show, it's a 4x4 Land Rover for goodness sake and importantly your departure angle will be severely compromised.

Next there'll be a thread on painting brake calipers, then no doubt one on body colouring windscreen wipers. Rolling Eyes FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-
