Boring rubber mats question? Whose done it?

Chaps and chappesses,
Time of year to purchase a set of rubber mats for my daughters 2010 FL2 Sport ... despite searching the site for a number of posts on the relevant subject none of them appear to answer my question satisfactorily....

As stated previously genuine mats come in two different sets, those for 2006-13 cars and those for Post 2013 models. Bizarre pricing strategy from JLR in that the post 2013 sets retail at approximately £45 yet the more common earlier version is priced at £111!

No previous post details the difference. I surmise that it is purely down to the peg restraint system which like other JLR products went to the single retaining peg mounted through the carpet on later vehicles. I can't believe JLR changed the floorpan design so late in the cars life cycle so I believe the later mats will still fit.

My question is has anyone purchased the cheaper later mats to fit in their earlier car? Did they fit? Are there any other issues? And would you do it again?

Regards Farmer Chalk

When I purchased my car my13 it had the earlier mats fitted perfectly apart from the peg holes being in the wrong place.

As above! Front & back. Bought from the UK, so I have to pay extortion freight fees!

90% happy with them.

I have kept my simple rectangular third party cheap mats from my old car. Had them years & they are almost in perfect condition. They have a square grid pattern all the way to the edge of the mat that catches all the dirt, gravel & other crap off the road.

But they don't have Land Rover stamped on them! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thanks peeps...

And apologies for being so rude for not introducing myself... Am a heavy user and part of the furniture on the D3 forum as I also own a G4 D3 and was so used to the forum that I forgot my manners!

So now I have a real dilemma! Buy original JLR ones with wrong peg fitment or aftermarket ones that fit for a similar price?? I get reasonable discount from my local dealer as I spend a fair bit there!

Decisions decisions...

I transferred my earlier set to my 13 model when bought new, a pair of snips and cut all the pegs other than the drivers central one, fitted nicely. It will be the same doing it the other way around and they don't move.

I didn’t think you were being rude Farmer Chalk Laughing I’d buy the genuine facelift ones and remove the floor pegs from the FL2.

Update for all... the later cheaper ones supposedly for model 13 onwards are a perfect fit at a third of the price of the earlier versions!
The drivers mat has a single central peg hole... the other mats have two small holes each... they fit perfectly in the foot wells of our 10plate car...

So just buy the cheaper later ones! Very Happy

Howdy FC. Thumbs Up

That's odd, my FL2 comes under the earlier model grouping (MY11 - facelift) and that has the single retaining peg. Confused
I have both OEM rubber mats and carpet sets fitted. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.
