Tailgate issues

Hi, 2006 fl2, tailgate has started to click open for no apparent reason , keep having to use tailgate button on fob to release it totally so i can use boot, bit of a pain when car is running and fob is in ignition!! Is it just a case of needing a new latch and loom or something else? Also as of today iphone wont link to car and horn stayed on after small blip on button ! Dont know if all related together? Maybe a software issue? Someone on here sure to know? Thanx in advance!👍🏻

Not saying it's the same as yours but I've had the three same issues with mine, not all at the same time though.

The tailgate became erratic in operation and would sometimes unlatch itself, that turned out to be water in the switch which eventually shorted out the microswitch altogether, after this it would only work off the dash button. Easy fix with a new switch assembly.

The horn still sticks occasionally but it's just the RH button sticking against the airbag cover, I try to avoid it and just use the left one now.

My iPhone failed to connect but only after an upgrade to a new one, I thought the settings had carried over but clearly not.

Sure I have read somewhere that a squirt of WD40 down the sides of the horn pushes will solve it, air bags drying out or something like that. REME .. Rough Engineering Made Easy

Maybe these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steering-wheel-...1291388589 will help against the sticking horn.

Finally got round to sorting tailgate issue , new release switch fitted and good as new , one word of caution if anyone fits anew one , make sure the numberplate light connections are correct ones as mine were different but little improvisation got it sorted , no more issues with phone connecting , same goes for horn fault! Happy days!!
