2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

Transfer Box

I am having a senior moment. Should you be able to turn a front hub round with little resistance when out of gear and all other wheels on the ground ?

Andy131 should know this. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Bob, If you are out of gear, then although the other wheel is stationary, the differential input shaft will turn the gearbox output shaft. No gearbox gears/cones are meshed and allow movement without turning clutch/engine. -- I think FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Its just a front wheel drive car when the haldex is off. So when turning a jacked up front wheel the differential will turn the gearbox which is disconnected from the engine. Jules
