BFG AT Tyres

My FL2 is currently fitted with Kuhmo M+S tyres but would like to replace these with BFG AT but the nearest size available to original spec is 245/65/17 (10 mm wider) can anyone tell me if these will fit without any problems?

I have always had these on Defenders and the grip in deep snow and mud is very very good plus the fact they never seem to wear out and they are very civilised on road.

If anyone has put these on their FL2 I would like to hear any comments.

Thanks.

A separate set of aggressive Winter wheels and tyres then as part of your Scottish holiday kit may be best then but most of Scotland these days gets next to no snow but no doubt now I have said that it will want to prove me wrong.

Met Office

On average, the number of days with snow falling varies from less than 30 per year along the west coast to over 100 days over the Grampians. The number of days with snow lying has a similar distribution, with less than 6 over the westernmost islands, about 20 in Shetland and more than 50 days over the higher ground. On the highest summits, such as Ben Nevis, snow cover typically persists for 6 or 7 months each year.

Pirelli Scorpion AT are a good compramise , decent mileage , decent MPG, and will work well in mud and snow long after the all seasons have given up . They also have an excellent rim protection bead . Probably the quietest AT tyre which is a big plus . Available in stock 17" Freelander size. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

You need to bear with other FL2 forum members, they do go off at tangents at times. Laughing

Not aware of anyone who's fitted this tyres size.
However, if it's of any help I'm running 275/45/20 Cooper Zeon LTZ (AT) tyres on Evoque wheels and there's absolutely no rubbing issues.
So if you do the maths (don't have a calculator with me) you'll find out if they'll fit or not.

Good luck, oh and welcome to the forum. Thumbs Up
