MY13 onwards Keyless stop/start fob Waterproof?

Was out for a spot of fishing and dropped my fob in a puddle just before we entered the lake. Fobs been working fine it's been 3 days now. Does anyone know if they are waterproof? MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

No they are not
place in bag of Rice and put in airing cupboard to assist drying it out
mine survived a Washing machine cycle using above method.
I dismantled it first.

No.

It would have gaskets for some sort for reasonable sealing. It would be best to pull it apart straight away. Remove the battery is critical. Dry it with tissues. Leave it open in the sun or in a warm place for a few days to dry out thoroughly.

At least is was fresh water so to speak, river or toilet etc, & not sea water!

You could also drop it in some methylated spirits for a few seconds to displace water, but without the battery, & then let it dry for a few days!

Given the amount of time mine spends in the 1 year olds mouth without fault, i'd say they have a pretty high IP rating!

The rubber parts of both my fobs are falling apart. So I bought a couple of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOB-SMART-KEY-SI...Sw3ydV6wuD

They're quite a tight fit over the fob so I would think they'd at least slow the ingress of water should you have a similar accident. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE
