ECU location and removal

11 Plate TD4
I plan on sending my ECU to JRTuning where it will be altered to give better throttle response. I will start looking for it behind the bulkhead cover by the wiper motor is this correct?

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

This is such rubbish.
The ECM can't be properly tweaked to improve anything other than power output, without the vehicle going on a rolling road for proper setting up. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ionic 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Biscay Blue

I just had a remap by JRTuning while it was having other work being done. No idea if it's a mental thing that my brain wants me to think it runs better or weather it actually does run better. But I'd say it was some of the better money I've spent on the FL2.

I cannot say that I notice the slight increase in BHP, but I have noticed that the car is a bit more flexible in the gears than what it was and it's much happier in 4th doing 30 rather than it feeling a bit boggy before. I cannot help with the question, just thought I'd throw a quick recommendation into the mix. Very Happy
