Having had my rear diff seize solid while driving just before Christmas. The cause was due to there being no oil in the thing, literally just a few drops in the bottom. This has lead to obvious overheating and wear to the pinion and crown wheel, as well as the pinion bearings being seized absolutely solid.

So I'm thinking it's probably best to replace the diff, instead of trying to rebuild the damaged one I have.

I'm wanting to know if I can use a diff from any year of Freelander 2? Mine is a late 2008, 9H TD4.
I've found a 2013 rear diff at a reasonable cost (miles unknown), which I'm thinking of buying. I know this later diff will likely have a different front bearing (I'll probably change that anyway), but I just wanted to check the gear ratio is the same as my 2008 diff.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Short answer -> Yes, it will fit!

They are all the same except for the outer pinion bearing that was made larger on the later ones.
