Hard reset

Morning all,

Excuse my ignorance but I keep seeing mention of doing a hard reset after various faults occurred. Can someone please tell me exactly what you do to effect a hard reset. Just want to know in case ever needed.

Disconnect both negative and positive leads from the battery. Arrange for the positive and negative leads to connect together and leave them like that for a few minutes. The pause allows charge held by any capacitors in the system to discharge. Disconnect the leads from each other then reconnect the positive lead to the battery, then the negative lead to the battery. You'll probably have to reprogram the window end points and might need to set up the radio stations. The vehicle mileage will still be there though any trip, average speed and fuel consumption data will have zeroed.

Many thanks BossBob, certainly wouldn't have known that sequence.
