Headlight washers sequence

I know that normally the headlight washers should only work if the windscreen washer button is pressed 5 times, but my headlight washers work on the first press of the button. It's not really a problem, but it is a bit annoying as I have to fill the bottle more often and it's washing the headlights unnecessarily.
Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone have a clue how to 'reset' the sequence back to normal? -------------------------------------------------------------

5 times? I thought my headlights were washed every time I used the washers or wash/wipe? To be honest though, I cant say that I'd ever taken any notice of as/when and quite frankly I don't find filling the washer bottle that much of a chore and no harm in having clean lights

Thanks dorsetfreelander, but that thread just re-iterates the MOT requirements. As mentioned in that thread, the washers are only supposed to operate every fifth press of the button. Mine don't, they operate every time. It's as though they've 'lost' their set sequence. It's not going to affect the MOT, as they still work. I just want to know how to reset the sequence back to 'factory default' -------------------------------------------------------------

You may have done this but sometimes disconnecting the battery for a while works all kinds of magic.

oldseadog. if you read down the thread it says

"The headlamp power wash will operate on every fifth operation of the screen washer, provided the headlamps are still switched on and approximately 10 minutes have elapsed since the last headlamp wash. Switching the headlamps or ignition off and back on again, will reset the cycle. Note: The headlamp washers are inhibited when the washer fluid reservoir level is low."

In addition the program is different in some terrain settings. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

You must have better headlights than the rest of us Laughing I need all the help I can get as the LR2 lamps are crap but they certainly do not work on every press of the washer button. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
