I won a cracking battle against T-Mobile today.

So, I recently moved from T Mobile to '3' not really for price but because I was getting poor coverage. It was a bonus that I also got 8Gb of data, more calls and unlimited texts but in reality, I will probably never use a tenth of it. My regular bill was only about £8 a month.

Anyway, checking online today I see that my final bill was going to be a whopping £277 this month!

When I phone up to complain, I was basically told I had used 34Mb of data abroad last month and that was why. I argued through several layers of staff but was still getting the same answer - system says you used it so that's it. When I questioned the last person at the top of the staff tree, he told me that I used it in Spain on June 23rd. I was in Spain from 25 May until 1st June and also in early July but definitely not on that date but he said I must have been as the system is never wrong. Then it hit me. I asked when inclusive calls/texts/data for roaming in Europe came into force. "June 15th" he said. "And how much data did my plan allow me" I asked. "500Mb" he said. "Is 500 a bigger or smaller number than 34" I asked. "Bigger" he said. "And does the 23rd of June come before or after the 15th of June" I asked. "After" he said. "THEN WHY THE F#*^%#* G HELL ARE YOU CHARGING ME" I asked. Silence. Then an apology. Bill reduced to £11.36. Back of the net! Laughing Laughing Laughing Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

Reminds me of the time the police rolled up at my home and were ready to arrest me for the theft of petrol - as in filled tank and drove off.

Said I to the not so nice bobby how much fuel did I steal, he replied 10 gallons. I handed him the keys to my small but new car and said off you go and drive until empty and then fill it. The car had a 7 gallon tank ! Lesson being though always insist on a receipt when paying cash especially when in Bradford. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Many years ago I happened to pay the tax bill in cash, it was not large. Had always paid by cheque. A few years later I was contacted for not paying that tax bill. I did have the the receipt but it was extremely faded. After a few days I finally worked out the receipt number. Was about 98% sure it was correct. Never heard anything again over the issue.

I always get receipts for cash. & as far as tax, even if I get a tiny tax bill, which I did once for only 1 dollar & a bit, I pay by cheque! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
