[Sold] 18" Wheel and tyres £10 each

18" Wheel and tyres £10 each Report post

Our Freelander has gone and these will not fit the ewok

They are used and scuffed, but at £10 each what do you expect?
They are all genuine 18" Land Rover Freelander 2 wheels
The first has a "normal Goodyear" down to the wear indicators
The next three are Goodyear winter tyres with 2-3mm left.
The last is another Goodyear winter tyre down to the wear indicators

Perfect for someone who has a tin of gunk and a compressor rather than a proper spare wheel.

If not gone by the 24th July I have agreed to weigh them in - I will get £10 each for them as scrap hence the advertised price, I would rather they go to a good home but it's not worth the aggro with the Mrs.

They are collect only, from Leigh - near Manchester.

Cheers AndyP
All five gone to a good home Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

No idea but can these rims be furbished at a sensible cost ? If so someone local should snap them up. I am assuming they are the same type. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current

AndyPP has asked to see them Saturday - so hopefully they will go to a good home.

Yes they are suitable for refurbishment, granted they are curbed, but not chipped or buckled.

It does seem to be a shame to scrap them, but they won't fit the Ewok, and I have been told that we are not having another "old shape" Freelander. Little does she know but we are taking a Disco sport for a test drive Sunday - the Ewok just HAS to go, the worst car I have EVER owned, that's coming from someone who has had 5 Reliant 3 wheelers.

It's only saving grace is that it's not the worst car I have ever driven, that goes to a rental car in the states. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

64 plate pure tech
so Freelander 2.2 engine with new 9 speed gearbox and glass roof

Wheels too big 19" - need to be 17"
Roof doesn't open - I knew this but Mrs. insisted
Suspension way too hard
Driving position too low.
Grey - it's the colour you choose when you have given up on life - again Mrs. likes it
Front fog lamps a £2k extra
What idiot thought it was a good idea to have a solid shelf over the boot? you nip to builders yard put a load of timber/pipe/conduit in and have to leave the shelf with them and come back for it.
Space-saver spare
Aircon is pathetic (then again G4 did have exceptional aircon)
Steering too heavy

BUT the killer put your foot down and ------- nothing, count to four slowly and then watch the traction control light come on as she tries to torque steer. the real killer - it happens 4 times out of 5, so even that can't be relied on. this happens from stationary or from any speed below 30mph, when moving it is more random, but can you imagine the fun at roundabouts, you pull out in front of someone, then dawdle and then mount the kerb as the steering goes potty.
Torque steer on a 4x4! and yes she does have a working Haldex.

There is another occasional "feature Sir" stopped at lights, stop/start kills engine, lights turn green, accelerate hard - the engine tries to start, but tries to set off at the same time, and goes completely across the lights on the starter ie below 800rpm.
Easy fix is to turn off the stop/start feature - but that does sort of defeat the object.

Been back to Williams in Manchester "All the new Land Rover Products set off slowly Sir, It's perfectly Normal"
Mmm I bet a RRS petrol doesn't

You did ask - thanks for letting me get it off my chest Thumbs Up Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

HaHa your welcome Andy.

I had a black Pure 2.2 Manual and apart from being a bit awkward to get in gear (which I later found out was a result of transfer box/gearbox problems impacting on the DMF/Clutch set up) I found it to work fine. Although the stop/start rarely worked but I wasn't bothered about that.

I was ok with the solid rear parcel shelf, especially when I found it was designed to slot behind the upright rear seats which was great for me having a dog.

Mine also had 20's on, so the ride was a bit harsh over rougher roads but it didn't bother me too much.

I had a couple of loan Evoques which were auto and with pan roof and again I found no bother with them. Even when pushing hard away from a junction, there was no torque steer at all.

the only reason I got rid so quickly was because it was a badly repaired accident damaged car (hence the transfer box, gearbox problems, the bent inside wheel rim, etc etc etc) even though it was ''LR Approved''

I would certainly have another one, but for me it would be 3 door auto with pan roof this time round

Choose your DS carefully - it can have a lot of the features of the Ewok - no spare or just a space saver, same stop-start system etc. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
