United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver
Rear seat striker latch...and hello Freel2 forum

Good morning all.

Will introduce myself properly in the members section shortly [apologies, but haven't long had the vehicle and so no photos as yet] but, and I appreciate it's not necessarily the done thing to start a Spanish Inquisition before offering some advice back to the forum, I've a question re: fitting a Land Rover dog guard to a Freelander 2 Commercial and was hoping the experience of the forum may be able to help.

The vehicle is a 58 plate Commercial, purchased so that muddy dogs, muddy mountain bikes and muddy people can get from muddy locations back to a [inevitably soon to be muddy] house!

By separating the dogs [boot] from the potentially non dog proofed load [what would be the rear seat area] I'm hoping to avoid any unnecessary chewing of items.

However, the genuine guard locates within the rear seat striker latches, so as to avoid braining the dogs everytime I accelerate, or braining myself and the girlfriend everytime I brake.

I don't have these striker plates on the Commercial, but can anyone advise on a). that they can be retro fitted to my vehicle, and b). a land rover part number or good source for a pattern part?

I'll try breakers on ebay, Rimmer and Britpart as first ports of call, but perhaps the forum will throw something up?

Many thanks for taking the time to have a read, and I'll introduce myself properly once I've put wash mitt to paint and have a few better images to show.

All the best.

Morgs

Actually, scratch the part number request.

I believe the part number is/are LR000370/1

The rest of the query still stands though.

Are these a direct fit or is there a base plate that I also need in order to fit these back into/onto?

Many thanks.

Morgan
