Does anybody know if the Bluetooth module can be updated?

I have a 2007 with sat nav and Bluetooth. My Samsung Galaxy Tab phone links to it, as does my Samsung S5. They work and I can receive and make calls.

It asks if I want to sync my Phonebook. I have deleted the previous owners Phonebook, and synced mine. However, it doesn't display the names in a format that I can read. It converts them all to symbols.

My wife is currently listed on the car as ?@??, and no, it's not what I call her behind her back.

It isn't as if it has converted each letter. Her name in my Phonebook is made up of 6 individual letters.

Any advice? I've checked the LR connectivity centre website, and there is nothing listed on there, newer than a iphone4! Does that mean I have to check a certain auction site to find a 10yr old phone to be able to sync it?

Either that or update the Bluetooth module with a later version (not cheap!) which I think has been covered somewhere on here before.

Bluetooth module can be updated to latest software version which logically should be your first step.
Later version Bluetooth modules can also be picked up quite inexpensively if the latest SW version for your module doesn't do the trick. MY15
