Any bikers on here?

Just wondered if there were any bikers on here. I use a scooter for getting to work most day (beats the traffic every time) and my big bike for odd days out and European trips which I go on with my biking mates once a year. Funnily enough, my wife HATES bikes and refuses to get on the back of mine Laughing . So, any other Freely drivers on here into bikes/scooters and if so, what you got and do your wives ride with you?

Yup. Present collection.

Yamaha MT01 2010
Honda cbx1000 (6CYL) 1980
Laverda Montjuic MK1 1978
Ariel 500 Red Hunter 1955
Royal Enfield 250 Continental GT 1964

I ride for pleasure now but at one time the bike was my only transport. Wife loves to go pillion, time permitting, down the coast on a sunny Sunday for a good fry up! Can't beat it.

SWMBO and I were instructors with the RAC ACU and BMF rider training schemes. We also were founding members of Avon Advanced Motorcyclists. She rode a Honda 400F and I a Ducati 900 GTS. We still have a Yamaha SR500 in near original condition that comes out when the sun shines (rarely) and she has an old unrestricted CB125 twin that she wants to restore. She is one of those rare women that can do a service on her bike and is easily capable of the periodical checks needed and has no problems changing a wheel when required.
I'm seriously tempted to get the SR up to the west coast of Scotland in the summer as I find the roads ups there so much better than the car parks they call roads around Bristol.

Yes, always used a bike for commuting. Currently got a Honda NC700X for my short 20 mile commute (does 80 mpg).
Before that a Triumph Tiger 1050, great bike just more than I currently needed, and before that a ZX12 that I commuted to London on, phenomenal bike, knocked up a 145k miles on that. Also had a ZX9 and 3 CBR600's, went round the clock on one of those as well.

Zx10R here. The missus rides a fireblade. Makes for an easy life and no need to spoil the ride with a pillion.

However, I must say I've found myself at a crossroads. I've only ever had sports bikes and now find myself wanting something different. At least something more comfortable. Thinking of a Tuono V4 however I test rode one and it was more mental than anything I've ever ridden. A mad bike. Started thinking of a triumph explorer 1200. It looks comfy. At what point in my life did comfort start being a priority?

none right now, after crashing one a year for 3 years Whistle last was a zx6r. Missus won't get on the back, but looking at something like a VFR1200-esque bike and then she might Smile

My mate who has a R1200RT tried out a VFR1200 but found it too uncomfortable - forward leaning riding position and a seat like a surf-board so he didn't get it but he said the engine frightened him. He reckons it felt like Honda had just chucked a couple of panniers on a sports bike. 170bhp aren't they?

Here's my FJR without the panniers.
