Boot trim crud...

Gave my Freelie a good wash the other day and realised while I was wiping around the tailgate, the plastic trim on top of the bumper was slightly lifted and wouldn't push back down into place.

I removed it and then I realised why...

A good soak and a clean with a microfiber cloth and it's all sorted!

The only trouble is, I then discovered I'd popped a large paint blister in one corner where the water collects. Sad [/img] "We're in danger, we've got to get out."
"What are you talking about?"
"I've been called a ponce."

That looks better for a clean , take the rear light units out and look at the crud that collects behind the bumper.

I had about a kilo of red dust from the outback in there.

Also the dust seems to sit up under the bottom edge of the rear window. You will also get a lot of crap out if you poke the hose past the suspension springs over the plastic wheel arch liner. Easier if you take the plastic fittings off the end of the hose.

On my car the plastic trim was never down in place properly. About a year after buying the new car I noticed the bottom edge of the rear door was rough. The paint had been rubbing off, so you want to make sure this plastic sits down properly.

on my last but one FL2 which was a GS I had all the black body trim colour coded and the grill done in black. When the bumper came off there was a complete birds nest with eggs in it on the front X member. it was an old abandoned nest as the eggs were just shells but explained why the mileage was low... must have been sitting on a drive somewhere.

I was camping in the Warrumbungle National Park. I was standing behind the car leaning into the boot. Something bit me on the toes, I was wearing thongs, I jumped a mile. It took about 10 minutes before I found one very bold possum up behind the exhaust. While I was stealing food out of the boot he saw 10 small pieces of meat on the ground! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I was just saying that & the computer crashed. "It may have been dangerous if I was wearing a thong as there may have been an eleventh very small piece of meat!" Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
