Hi All. I've just joined the forum now and this is my first post.
I have bought a 2012 TD4 and think it is just fantastic. i have replaced the original tyres with Cooper CS5 Grand Tourers which are possibly the quietest tyres I have ever had. Also replaced all of the interior lights with quality LEDs.
Now the question. I have a Blackvue dash cam that comes with heaps of power cable and clips to run the cable around the window. i don't want to do that and possibly interfere with the airbags so intend to put a DC jack in the interior lighting console just near the rear view mirror. It doesn't come out easily and I don't want to force thing so does anybody have tips on how to remove the little console?

No airbags in the A-pilars the curtain air-bags are in the headlining above the doors. A-pillar air-bag signs are actually the cover for the A-pillar screw holding it in place so safe to remove. You'll also need to remove the mesh speaker cover in the dash to remove another fixing screw to remove the A-pillar cover.
Shell around the rear view mirror is in 2 parts, left and right which simply pulls apart. MY15

We must have different models. The interior light in my 2012 is a single piece with the light at the front and what appears to be small vents about 20mm square on each side at the rear.
It's good to see another Perth owner.

Light just pops out, either a credit card or plastic removal tool will be enough to pop the light out.  MY15
