Not quite, the parts must be of equal quality or better, does not have to be Genuine.

Main dealers will price match the competition. My second service was around £325 (iirc) on my last car. Initial quote was around £400. Make sure you get brake fluid change included in the quote. Thumbs Up _________________

Thanks 3disco - my mistake.
Got what I thought was a good price for 3rd service, until I got car back and brake fluid hadn't been changed. Won't make same mistake twice. _________________

Some of the new members really don't take the time to read the topics in this very section....

Like this one: Common Maintenance Issues Links

And especially this one: 2nd Service Cost

It seems that the task to group the issues in one, sticky, topic is useless.

Hell, it's easy to ask than to look... Laughing

I vote to remove the Search facility entirely ! Laughing

Just to justify my post - The search facitlity has some very random results and its sometimes pot luck finding something.

Also - does it really matter that someone posts a similar topic as it often gets new more up to date comments from different members.

For sure your wife told you from time to time to not let your things thrown all over your house and keep them in order... Laughing Same here. And for sure she will tell you again and again. Even if you have up to date reasons. Very Happy
If you can appreciate the comparison, then OK. If not, I've already voted for removing the Search facility. Laughing

And, to justify my post, if you enter, as per your title, the exact "2nd service cost" phrase in the search box, the FIRST thing shown is the topic in question. So no weird results....

Hey... No offense, I hope, just kidding!

I was charged an extra £75 for the brake fluid change on top of the service !!

and I am suspicious that they didn't even do it, no way of checking.

Not 100% sure on this and i stand corrected but i would imagine the colour would have darkened after use as with engine oil etc.
I would compare yours with colour of new fluid and if darker go back to the garage.

After driving the car for the first time after the service, did the brakes feel more responsive ??? If they felt the same as before the brake fluid change, you can bet your bottom dollar they did not change the fluid. I have had brake fluid changed on a few cars & you know instantly by feel.
