Looks good. Does the new head unit not have GPS built in?

Does everything still work, reverse sensors, steering controls etc? Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....

Yes the head has sat nav, but dependent on the phone, so no signal and cannot set the satnav so nice to have one totally independent on phone signal.

Yep, controls all work, and also reversing beeps still work, also go into reverse and the radio shows a reversing camera mounted as one of the rear numberplate lights. 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

I have too many questions.

Was your original head unit the midline one with the Alpine speakers? If so did you get an amp bypass kit? Does the sub in the boot still work? I would love to do this but it just looks too expensive with the midline setup. Learned to drive in 2011.

I did use the amp bypass kit the connectors that actually worked were from incartech the sub in the boot, good question not sure not noticed it missing. But will have to sit in the boot and feel. Smile

Yes, the midline unit, so looks like the posh one, but without sat nav screen.

Price £230 for the kit, £40 for bits. £30 for reversing camera, £220 for the sat nav (cheaper ones available) and I guess around £300 for the pioneer. So yes, not cheap. But it's awsome. Smile sat up high with all the gadgets it feels great.closest I'll get to flying a space shuttle Wink 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

I would be interested to know what the sound is like if the sub isn't working. Learned to drive in 2011.

No, sub not working, would need to put a little powered amp in for that. The stereo has an output for a sub.

My dog who is in the boot a lot is probably happy the sub isn't working Smile 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

Interesting. If it sounds full and still has a decent bass response I guess it isn't an issue. Learned to drive in 2011.

Would really appreciate if you could let me know how it sounds. Music in the car is important to me. I guess I could always turn the sub right down and see how it sounds in mine - only just thought of that. Learned to drive in 2011.

Thanks. Also, from the incartech product photos the amp bypass kit looks like a really long cable. Do you have to run this and do you have to dismantle a lot of the car to do so? Learned to drive in 2011.

Yes.... it's tucked under the drivers carpet and the trim around the drivers footwell, only took half an hour or so to run the cable. 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS
