Screeching bearing ... Lower Crank Pulley ??? .... now fixed

[b]Had a screeching bearing noise coming from the front offside of my vehicle. Thought it was wheel bearing or drive shaft. Took it to local indy LR garage, who told me it could be "Lower Crank Pulley".
apparently wheel bearing and drive shaft very rarely go on FL2 ...... so I am told (others are now going to tell me different ??)

Is this a common problem ? vehicles is a 09 plate with 102K mls on clock.

I welcome your comments.

Any power washing going on in the engine bay area recently ? Might be worth with the engine running giving it a spray with a lubricant spray (I use a bike one). FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

The garage saying wheel bearings rarely go on Freelander's would make me cautious Shocked
I would say one of the other belt driven pulleys is more likely to be at fault.
Have you tried removing the belt and seeing what effect it has on the screeching.
Any difference with the screeching when you steer???

If the noise has moved on and gone it could have been a small stone getting between the Disc and Back plate. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Aux belt tensioner is very likely cause. Went on mine shortly after having the steering rack problem sorted and sounded similar. I'd get a second opinion - not heard of a problem with the crank pulley. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Well my Indy LR dealer has fixed it today.

I was right with SCREAMING ...... but wrong with Bearing.

It was a Screaming INTERCOOLER HOSE ......... with a 2" split in it. Vehicle dont make that noise (screaming air rush) and has got back its low gear drive.
